## Sustainability story

As we have seen our snowpack, winters and overall climate shift over the past 32 years, we believe that informed decisions and hard work can help reduce our environmental impact so that the snow is just as deep for our grandkids as it is for us. Using specific and accurate tools and info, we have measured our impact on the environment and are actively using this data to identify alternatives and drive future development decisions. As a Climate Neutral Certified organization, 686 annually measures and offsets all carbon emissions from first thread to last mile.

## Emissions (2024)

**Methodology:** 686's emissions inventory uses a mix of spending and activity-based data. 686 attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce by selecting materials and manufacturing processes that have lower carbon footprints. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Through partnership with our factories we plan to reduce the amount of waste in cutting thereby lowering our overall carbon footprint. (source: Operational waste, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions generated from the production of our raw materials by first assessing the GHG impacts of all of our main shell fabrics and then switching to lowe GHG materials. (source: Raw materials, target: Q1 2024, completion: 10%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions by reducing cutting waste in manufacturing. (source: Operational waste, target: Q1 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will work with our largest supplier to help them reduce the amount of energy they use in operations. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q1 2025, completion: 1%)
- **Scope 3** — Work with manufacturers to audit emissions and set a reduction strategy. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q1 2025, completion: 1%)
- **Scope 3** — Transition 100% of our individual polybags to master polybags across key retail partners. (source: Packaging, target: Q1 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Transition 5% of our hardshell fabrics from virgin to recycled materials across our outerwear products. (source: Raw materials, target: Q3 2025, completion: 0%)
