## Sustainability story

Aquila's Nest Vineyards was inspired by mythological tales and our love for astronomy. One of our wines is named after the Goddess of Earth, Gaea. However, our dedication to Mother Earth extends beyond labels.

Ever since the time we planted our first vines, we made a conscious decision to use the least amount of chemicals possible in the vineyard maintenance process. We have tried our hardest to use non-plastic glassware, compostable food boxes, compostable utensils, and compostable cups. We've always encouraged our guests to drink from our fresh well water instead of using plastic bottles.

We reuse the fallen wood across our 40 acres property for the winery's wood burning stoves, and outdoor fire pits, and we hope to supply 100% solar

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Aquila's Nest Vineyards's inventory uses spending data to estimate GHG emissions. Aquila's Nest Vineyards attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate Project team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 2** — We will replace at least 30% of energy consumption by installing on site solar panels. (source: Electricity, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will begin by tackling plastic waste through identifying alternative options to plastic currently used. (source: Operational waste, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce waste from plastic water bottle usage 50% through placing tap water pitchers and big jugs in all visitor areas. (source: Operational waste, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Recycle all cardboard packaging material by adding a separate cardboard waste container to accurately measure, dispose and recycle this material properly. (source: Operational waste, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce waste from compostable straws 30% through ongoing staff training in the wine consumption area. (source: Operational waste, target: Q4 2025, completion: 80%)
- **Scope 3** — Transition 20% Amazon deliveries to the Green Prime Delivery option, which bundles deliveries together one one day per week. (source: Downstream shipping, target: Q2 2025, completion: 50%)
- **Scope 1** — Replace 25% of our traditional vehicle fleet with zero-emission electric vehicles (source: Vehicle fleet, target: 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Our goal is to eliminate 100% of restroom paper towel waste by replacing them with energy-efficient electric air dryers to reduce landfill impact and conserve resources. (source: Operational waste, target: 2025, completion: 0%)
