## Sustainability story

With the belief that winemaking is a collaboration with the land, Bonterra has been farming organically since 1987. Inspired by the purity of organic fruit, Bonterra has a low-intervention approach to winemaking — its winery is certified organic, sustainable, and TRUE Zero Waste and operates on 100% renewable energy, while estate ranches are triple-certified organic, biodynamic and sustainable. As part of the largest Certified B Corp wine company in the world, Bonterra advocates for policies around regenerative agriculture, healthy soils and sustainable water practices. As a Climate Neutral Certified business, Bonterra is the world's 1st organically farmed wine brand to certify for climate responsibility across its entire business scope.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 1** — We are working on reducing our scope 1 emissions from our farming equipment. (source: Energy at offices or controlled facilities, target: Q1 2022, completion: 50%)
- **Scope 3** — We will work to decrease the carbon footprint of our packaging, which has implications across purchased goods, upstream shipping, and downstream shipping. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2022, completion: 30%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions on both up and downstream from more aggressive weight reductions in our packaging, specifically our glass. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q2 2024, completion: 15%)
- **Scope 1** — We plan to reduce our emissions from combustible fuels in our truck and tractor shops. (source: Vehicle fleet, target: Q1 2024, completion: 50%)
- **Scope 1** — We plan to add 2 electric tractors to our fleet, reducing diesel usage. (source: Vehicle fleet, target: Q4 2023, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 2** — We are installing a new solar and battery system on-site that will decrease our electricity footprint, reducing our carbon footprint by 33%+. (source: Electricity, target: Q3 2024, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to redesign our red wine bottles to be lighter weight, resulting in a projected 23% decrease in emissions associated with glass & upstream transportation. (source: Packaging, target: Q3 2025, completion: 0%)
