## Sustainability story

At Anheuser-Busch, sustainability is not just part of our business, it is our business. Beer is a natural product and a healthy environment is a key ingredient in the brewing process. That's why, as the country's leading brewer, we are committed to making a meaningful impact by protecting the environment across our entire supply chain – from seed to sip – and inspiring our partners to do the same.

That means doing our part to reduce the environmental impact of our brewing and logistics operations, including by investing in water conservation and improving energy efficiency across every aspect of our business.
In 2021, we set an ambition to achieve net zero by 2040, with decarbonization as our key strategy to achieve this ambition.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Bud Light NEXT's emissions inventory uses a mix of spending and activity-based data. Bud Light NEXT attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

- Scope 1: 206 tCO2e
- Scope 2 (location-based): 317 tCO2e
- Scope 2 (market-based): 0 tCO2e
- Scope 3 (location-based): 4,092 tCO2e
- Scope 3 (market-based): 4,092 tCO2e
- **Total (location-based): 4,615 tCO2e**
- **Total (market-based): 4,298 tCO2e**

**Emissions intensity:** Per unit of product — unit of product

## Reduction plans

### Science-aligned targets
- We commit to reducing 2017 Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions intensity per hectolitre of beer 25% by 2025. (completion: 65%)

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce the emissions from our glass bottles by increasing the recycled content. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from transporting finished beer to retail by replacing 30 diesel trucks with alternative-fuel vehicles. (source: Downstream shipping, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 2** — Transition 100% of grid electricity to solar and wind through our electric utility in all breweries. (source: Electricity, target: Q1 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Replace 10 of the vehicles in the traditional vehicle fleet with zero-emission electric vehicles. (source: Vehicle fleet, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We are sourcing more recycled cullet and requiring our glass suppliers to increase the recycled content of their bottles by 0.6% in 2024. Using more recycled content reduces the emissions generated in the manufacturing process. We require our glass suppliers to disclose the proportion of recycled content in their products, so we can measure the year-over-year increase in recycled content and the resulting reduction in emissions. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — By end of year, Anheuser-Busch will launch a Renewable Energy Group Buying Initiative, which includes contracting aggregated Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for suppliers in the United States. The suppliers included in this initiative supply packaging and raw materials for Bud Light Next. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — In 2024, Anheuser-Busch will launch an Energy as a Service Workstream in its Eclipse platform with the goal of supplier education and engagement on decarbonization strategies, project implementation, and funding for EaaS. The suppliers included in this initiative supply packaging and raw materials for the Bud Light Next brand. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Redesign Aluminum across Beverage can to reduce weight (source: Packaging, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 1** — Upgrade 5% of our Natural Gas Boiler to an electric heating system in Cartersville, GA (source: Energy at offices or controlled facilities, target: 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 1** — Replace dedicated diesel transportation fleet with renewable natural gas powered tractors. (source: Vehicle fleet, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
