## Sustainability story

Sustainability is also baked into every single step of our manufacturing process. That’s why we use Life’s Omega, the only single-sourced and unblended DHA and EHA algae oil. Using proprietary extraction methods, algae is grown in a controlled indoor environment with no added chemicals or toxins. This results in a minimal environmental footprint.

Our pouches are made from plant-based plastic (derived from sugarcane versus oil). Since they’re made from renewable resources, their production process is carbon negative. This means that the production of these pouches actually removes more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it emits.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Calgee's inventory uses spending data to estimate GHG emissions. Calgee attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate Project team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

- Scope 1: 0 tCO2e
- Scope 2 (location-based): 1 tCO2e
- Scope 2 (market-based): 1 tCO2e
- Scope 3 (location-based): 93 tCO2e
- Scope 3 (market-based): 93 tCO2e

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — Transition plastic to carbon negative, plant-based plastic packaging across all product bottles. (source: Packaging, target: Q2 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Implement a low carbon sourcing/purchasing policy to only source PCR or 100% recyclable materials across all consumer packaging. (source: Packaging, target: Q3 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce flight-based business travel 25% or more for all employees by prioritizing virtual meetings. (source: Business travel, target: Q4 2024, completion: 10%)
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce our downstream carbon footprint from shipping orders to consumers by incentivizing consumers to bundle orders. We aim to have at least 20% of our subscribers have a bundled subscription. (source: Downstream shipping, target: Q4 2024, completion: 30%)
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce downstream emissions by improving Amazon FBA inventory management to boost in-region fulfillment by 25% by Q2 2026, using IPI and restock tools to reduce long-haul shipments. (source: Downstream transportation and distribution (Amazon FBA shipping), target: 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce downstream emissions from product returns by improving listing clarity, imagery, and FAQ content on Amazon. Our goal is to reduce return rates by 20% on our top three products by Q4 2025. (source: Downstream transportation and distribution (returns generate double shipping emissions + waste), target: 2025, completion: 0%)
