## Sustainability story

CLIF KID crafts delicious snack bars with organic ingredients to help keep kids going, growing, and exploring. CLIF KID is the maker of ZBAR and ZBAR Protein, which are specially crafted for kids, made with wholesome ingredients like organic oats, and contain no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Sustainability has always been at the core of CLIF Kid because in order to have delicious organic food to fuel active kids, we need a healthy planet. Total 2022 and 2023 ZBAR emissions reflect an updated methodology as a result of integration with Mondelez.

## Reduction plans

### Science-aligned targets
- We commit to reducing 2018 Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 50.4% by 2030. (completion: 0%)
- We commit to reducing 2018 Scope 3 emissions 30% by 2030. (completion: 0%)

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 2** — New and/or expanded renewable energy sources and energy reduction projects onsite at our bakeries. We are undergoing site assessments to increase renewable energy sources and/or implement new technologies to reduce energy use at Clif Bar bakeries. (source: Electricity, target: Q4 2024, completion: 15%)
- **Scope 1** — Reduce manufacturing emissions through energy efficiency projects. Bakery engineering teams will adjust and optimize bakery mechanical systems to reduce electricity use. This project is expected to reduce emissions annually at our Indiana bakery. (source: Energy at offices or controlled facilities, target: Q4 2023, completion: 30%)
- **Scope 1** — Reduce manufacturing emissions through improved processing systems. Bakery teams will update equipment and optimize procedures. This is a multi-year initiative that is estimated to reduce emissions by over 500 mtCO2e, annually, at Clif Bar bakeries. (source: Energy at offices or controlled facilities, target: Q4 2024, completion: 15%)
- **Scope 3** — We are assessing key crops and emission reduction opportunities through ingredient changes and/or supply chain interventions. (source: Raw materials (ingredients), target: Q1 2025, completion: 15%)
- **Scope 3** — Assess and implement a reduction in wrapper film size. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 1** — Replace the up to 25-50% of CLIF vehicle fleet with zero-emission electric vehicles. (source: Vehicle fleet, target: Q2 2026, completion: 0%)
