## Sustainability story

We're an independent sunglass brand designed & tested beachside in Los Angeles, CA. As lifelong surfers and beachgoers, we believe it is our and every brand's responsibility to treat our planet kinder. We make our sunglasses with bioacetate, a biodegradable and petroleum-free frame material. Our packaging is single-use plastic free. We're committed to ongoing improvement in this space (please @ us if you have ideas!). We'll always strive to lessen our footprint with innovative design and materials, but we hold no illusion about our environmental impact. As such, we are taking responsibility for our business and products' carbon emissions, working with Climate Neutral to measure and fully offset our total carbon footprint.

## Emissions (2025)

## Reduction plans

### Science-aligned targets
- We commit to reducing 2021 Scope 1 and 2 emissions 50% by 2030. (completion: 10%)

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — Eliminate single-use plastic from our supply chain. (source: Packaging, target: Q1 2021, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We are transitioning our entire product line to bioacetate in 2021. Bioacetate is a biodegradable and petroleum-free version of acetate, the industry-standard material for optical-grade frames. (source: Raw materials, target: Q3 2021, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from purchased case materials by increasing the use of recycled and/or upcycled alternatives such as recycled PET fabric, recycled PU, regenerated paper and eco-leather. (source: Raw materials, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from manufacturing suppliers by selecting and allocating production volume to sustainability certified suppliers. (source: Operational waste, target: Q1 2023, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from purchased case materials by 10% by increasing the use of recycled and/or up cycled alternatives such as recycled PET fabric, recycled PU, regenerated paper and eco-leather. (source: Purchased goods, target: Q2 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Utilize new and emerging material technology for our eyewear collections – including petroleum and plastic alternatives. (source: Purchased goods, target: Q3 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Transition 70% PU (plastic based) to paper bases across sunglass collection. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2026, completion: 70%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce the footprint of our freight operations by 10% by consolidating shipments across multiple suppliers, thereby reducing emissions on trucking, etc. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q4 2025, completion: 0%)
