As a brand in the beauty industry, we know we have a responsibility to help change this reality, doing our best to be kind to the planet, and helping our customers do the same. We started small, in our Brooklyn, NY headquarters. We made our shared kitchen plastic-free, set up compost bins and recycling stations, and educated employees on proper recycling methods. Our ultimate goal is to create infinitely recyclable packaging. In 2020, we launched a partnership with TerraCycle. Our customers could now recycle their Eva NYC empties easily, and for free. But we couldn’t stop there! In February 2021, we relaunched our hair care portfolio in infinitely recyclable aluminum. Aluminum is the most widely accepted material curbside, so it’s accessible and easy. Infinitely recyclable means that aluminum can be recycled an infinite amount of times, forever – without losing quality. That means it never has to end up in a landfill or the ocean. After making a major step change in our packaging, we broadened our lens to look at our entire supply chain. We accounted for all of the emissions that we produce in our warehouse, office, from shipping, and commuting, and in 2020 for the first time we balanced 100% of our emissions! And now, in 2022 we’re proud to officially be carbon neutral and Climate Neutral Certified. We’re also on the path to B-Corp certification, which we expect later this year! There’s a perception in the beauty space that it’s expensive for brands and consumers to be sustainable, and we’re here to change that narrative. We believe that everyone, regardless of what they spend on beauty, should be able to be kind to the planet, animals, and each other, and we’re grateful you’re on that journey with us.
