## Sustainability story

At MiiR, we are committed to giving more and taking less. This means prioritizing business practices and strategies that preserve the long-term viability of people and the planet. We recognize human-caused environmental degradation is a threat not only to healthy markets and healthy businesses, but most importantly to our quality of life. As a result, we're on a mission to fundamentally change how business operates — from sourcing to design to the wellbeing of our people. Being a consumer goods company, we have an inherent impact on the planet. As we seek to better understand our impact and identify ways we can improve, we will maintain an emphasis on continuous learning and evolution of process.

## Emissions (2026)

**Methodology:** MiiR's emissions inventory uses a mix of spending and activity-based data. MiiR attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Science-aligned targets
- We commit to reducing 2019 Scope 1+2 emissions by 45% by 2030 (completion: 20%)

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce our emissions by continuously evaluating our materials and making efforts to move away from Virgin materials and towards more PCR, sustainable, durable, and recyclable materials in both our products and packaging. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions by making reductions to our upstream shipping. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q3 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — As phase 2 of our goal set in 2021, we've audited materials and we plan to reduce emissions from the extraction and processing of virgin stainless steel by transitioning to post-consumer or post-industrial recycled stainless across our entire product line (source: Raw materials, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — As phase 2 of our goal set in 2021, we've audited materials and plan to transition to primarily post-consumer or post-industrial recycled plastics across our entire product line. This will reduce emissions from extraction and processing of virgin plastic. (source: Raw materials, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to partner with our manufacturers to develop a strategy to reduce long-term emissions. We plan to reduce emissions from energy, fuel usage, & waste by conducting an audit in partnership with other drinkware brands. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce waste from returned products (source: Operational waste, target: Q4 2020, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce virgin materials (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2020, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce emissions from supplier factories (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q3 2020, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce waste from blemished product by 75% through building upon existing supplier relationships in the Zhejiang province of China. (source: Operational waste, target: Q4 2024, completion: 7%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce waste from misprinted product by 75% through increased quality control measures and evolution of our Re:Claimed program in the United States. (source: Operational waste, target: Q1 2024, completion: 43%)
- **Scope 3** — As part of a Co-Lab facilitated by the OIA's Climate Action Corps, we plan to work with one of our Tier 1 suppliers to reduce their Scope 1 & 2 emissions. Our goal is to help facilitate one decarbonization action by 2025. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q1 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce reliance on virgin stainless steel in our 'New Standard' coffee line by optimizing design and material sourcing. Transition four SKUs by the end of 2026. (source: Raw materials, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce warehouse deadstock to less than 5% of total inventory by refining our purchasing strategy. (source: Operational waste, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 2** — In collaboration with the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) and a cohort of other brands, establish a joint renewable energy (RE) procurement initiative in China to drive decarbonization among our Tier 1 suppliers. (source: Electricity, target: 2027, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Implement a policy to extend the lifespan of decoration equipment by 50% in all controlled operations (source: Capital expenditures, target: 2027, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce waste from in house decoration activities by 10% through improving operator training, refining pre-production prep and adding quality assurance checks in in our controlled US facilities (source: Operational waste, target: 2027, completion: 0%)
