## Sustainability story

Nisolo is a B Corporation and Climate Neutral Certified brand, and our vision is to push fashion in a more sustainable direction that values the planet and producers within the industry just as much as end consumers. Every Nisolo purchase supports living wages and the offsetting of 100% of our carbon emissions across our entire supply chain by protecting trees from deforestation in the Amazon Basin. The fashion industry is responsible for 8% of annual greenhouse gas emissions! Rather than further contributing to climate change, we believe it?s our responsibility as a brand, and greater industry, to do our part in solving the climate crisis. Since early 2018, we have offset the carbon emissions of everything we have produced by investing in forest conservation in the Cordillera Azul of the Peruvian Amazon. Through Climate Neutral, we now have visibility into our entire carbon footprint, and have offset the emissions across all of our operations. This means that, to date, our customers have enabled us to protect 594,090 trees covering an area of 111,406,472 square feet (that?s the same size as 869 soccer fields) from deforestation in the Amazon Basin and offset 5,750 metric tons of CO2. This is the equivalent of taking 1,242 cars off the road for a year. Our conservation project currently supports 665 jobs, 30% of which are held by women.

## Emissions (2024)

**Methodology:** Nisolo's emissions inventory uses a mix of spending and activity-based data. Nisolo attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce upstream shipping emissions from our factory in Peru by shifting more of our shipping from air shipment to ocean shipment. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q4 2021, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from our product packaging by 50% by implementing a single-box shipper. (source: Packaging, target: Q3 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from our raw materials by launching our first products made from recycled materials. (source: Raw materials, target: Q2 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from our products' end of life. (source: Product end-of-life, target: Q2 2022, completion: 50%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce downstream shipping emissions from our distribution center. (source: Downstream shipping, target: Q2 2021, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce emissions from tanning by shifting all of our leathers to LWG Certified tanneries. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2020, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce emissions from air freight by switching air shipments to ocean freight so that more than 50% of all orders from Peru arrive using ocean shipping (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q4 2020, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce the amount of recycled cardboard we use for packaging our products by at least 10% through consolidating our box size to maximize space. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will localize the production of several of our top styles from Peru to Mexico, thereby reducing upstream shipping emissions in addition to raw material emissions. We plan to move at least 10% of our production from Peru to Mexico. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will source all paper used in packaging from recycled materials. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — We will further localize the production of product styles from Peru to Mexico, thereby reducing upstream shipping emissions in addition to raw material emissions. We plan to move at least 25% of our production from Peru to Mexico. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q3 2025, completion: 0%)
