## Sustainability story

Nocs Provisions' goal is to preserve the land and sea that is shared by all. A 1% For the Planet member from day one, Climate Neutral since 2020, Nocs partners with educational and environmental organizations that serve to protect our natural resources and educate the next generation. By observing and discovering how intricate and delicate our planet's ecosystem is, the more it reveals itself. The packaging of the product is entirely glue free, plastic free, using post consumer recycled cardboard and soy ink printing. The box can be shipped on its own. The interior scaffolding, made from a single piece of cardboard, holds the product in place, stores included accessories, and protects the product from impacts.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Nocs Provisions's emissions inventory uses a mix of spending and activity-based data. Nocs Provisions attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — We plan to shift the majority of our inbound freight from factory to our fulfillment centers from air to oceanic shipping by the end of 2022. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce the emissions produced by shipping our goods by utilizing existing distribution centers that are geographically closer to our customers. (source: Downstream shipping, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We are continuing to shift the transportation of our goods from the manufacturer from using air freight, to the much more efficient oceanic freight. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q3 2023, completion: 95%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce the emissions from the "Last Mile" shipping to our end consumers. (source: Downstream shipping, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce the overall cubic volume and material used in product packaging and cartons by 15%. (source: Packaging, target: Q3 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will work with our overseas manufacturers to develop a bill of materials and raw material sourcing plan in order to measure the exact specification of material used, source of materials, and audit material sources for carbon reduction opportunities. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Work with manufacturers to transition 20% Virgin Thermoplastic Polymers to Post Consumer Polycarbonate across optical product housings. (source: Raw materials, target: Q2 2026, completion: 70%)
- **Scope 3** — We will identify and categorize the most common issues with our products that end up as a warranty claim. From here, we will improve our manufacturing process to reduce waste from these products. (source: Operational waste, target: Q2 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Redesign cardboard packaging across product to further reduce raw material usage per $ of revenue by 15% (source: Packaging, target: 2025, completion: 90%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce waste from product failure through conducting product testing and developing improved eyecup and focus wheel mechanical designs in all optics manufacturing facilities (source: Operational waste, target: 2025, completion: 0%)
