## Sustainability story

Preserve, a certified B Corporation, is a leading sustainable consumer goods company that produces stylish, eco-friendly household products, as well as products for food service, all made in the USA. Preserve's business model is centered on mitigating the environmental impact of consumer products by producing products that require lower carbon emissions, lead to less consumption and waste, and protect the oceans. By using recycled materials, plant-based bioplastics and ocean diverted plastics, Preserve seeks to create an ethos of reuse, recycling, and composting in a sector that is responsible for more than 25% of total U.S. emissions. Preserve's products can be found in more than 7,000 retail and food service locations across the US.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Preserve's emissions inventory uses a mix of spending and activity-based data. Preserve attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — We plan to move the packaging of our Triple Razor, which is currently in PETG, to recycled paperboard, reducing plastic and light-weighting the package. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2021, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to move the packaging of our Shave 5 Razor, which is currently in PET packaging with a polypropylene cap to recycled paperboard, reducing plastic and light-weighting the package. (source: Packaging, target: Q2 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will change the Preserve Adult Toothbrush which is offered in a travel case made from virgin rigid plastic, to a recycled paperboard package. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 2** — We will ensure that our office electricity purchased is 100% from renewable sources and that we have an annual check in place to ensure that our energy sourcing does not revert back to standard grid mix. (source: Electricity, target: Q3 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will engage with our manufacturing partners around improving the percentage of renewables in their purchased energy mix. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q2 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Engage with three specific suppliers whose electrical use contributes most strongly to our footprint and who may be most receptive to reductions. Work with them to price out green alternatives in their regions and encourage action. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will build partnerships that encourage research and development on new materials, leading eventually to our use of carbon neutral or carbon negative resins for the production of our products. (source: Raw materials, target: Q2 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Research and identify options available to smaller companies for lowering our impact from downstream shipping to customers. (source: Emissions from shipping, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Research and propose at least two credible options for reductions for small package shipping, while continuing to engage with downstream freight providers on topics such as Sustainable Freight Buyers Alliance. (source: Downstream shipping, target: Q4 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Continue to work with manufacturing partners on transitions to green energy by diving deeper and documenting action by supply chain partners already engaged, and engaging two more supply chain partners to introduce a transition to renewable electricity. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q4 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will continue to build and develop partnerships that research and develop new materials in Preserve products and packaging, with the ultimate goal to achieve Preserve’s use of carbon neutral resins. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Research and create a process for Preserve to source SAF certificates for business airline travel. (source: Business travel, target: 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Research Power purchase agreements (bundled RECs) for the New York area and work with partners there to transition to a community solar power purchase set up. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: 2027, completion: 0%)
