In 2019 60% of the total global coffee production came from 12.5 million small-holder farmers, 44% of whom were living in poverty and 22% in extreme poverty. Almost 70 years earlier in 1950, Colombian coffee representative, Andres Uribe appeared before US congress, his request - an ‘equitable price’ for coffee. Philosopher George Santayana famously said, ‘Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’ It makes one think - it’s almost as if the system were set up this way. We link specialty arabicas to amazing NGOs & pledge 25% of our profits. We believe in equitable supply chains that reward farmers. We don’t rely on coffee certifications, just the facts on the ground. We believe delicious coffees should always be traceable.
