## Sustainability story

Doing the right thing has been at the core of what we do since we first turned on our stills in 2014. We take care selecting local grains grown with sustainable practices, operate as efficiently as possible and strive to eliminate wasteful packaging. Our ethos also informed our decision to install solar panels and ensure our facility uses energy efficiently by insulating the building, optimizing our equipment and using as much natural light as possible. Our fans care as much about sustainability as we do so we are inspired to find ways of continually improving the sustainability of our operation and how we do business. This way our customers can be confident that with each sip of our spirits, they can drink well while doing good.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Split Spirits's inventory uses spending data to estimate GHG emissions. Split Spirits attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate Project team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 1** — We plan to switch to 50% renewable natural gas from the methane produced by the organic material in landfills, wastewater treatment facilities and local farms. (source: Energy at offices or controlled facilities, target: Q2 2021, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions in our supply chain relating to purchased goods by switching to 100% recycled glass bottles for our spirits. (source: Packaging, target: Q2 2021, completion: 90%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to shift to 100% cardboard packaging and eliminating plastic protective sleeves. (source: Packaging, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to install an EV charging station on-site and make it available to any employee, supplier or community member. (source: Employee commuting, target: Q1 2024, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce business travel related emissions by 50% by hiring local brand ambassadors, subsidizing the use of public transit and reducing the need for longer-distance trips from our distillery. (source: Business travel, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We aim to source 75% of our grain from organic and/or regenerative growers in the area for use in our distilled spirits. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 1** — Replace 25% our traditional vehicle fleet with zero-emission electric vehicles. (source: Vehicle fleet, target: Q4 2024, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Implement a low carbon sourcing/purchasing policy to reduce plastic 75% across materials used for promotional tastings and events. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Transition 100% data currently housed on AWS servers to Google Drive across our entire business. (source: Software and servers, target: Q4 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Send 100% of organic wastes from the distillery process (spent grain) to the community anaerobic digester. (source: Operational waste, target: 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Recycle 100% of plastic film waste associated with deliveries received at the distillery. (source: Operational waste, target: 2025, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Implement a policy for remote work to reduce commuting emissions by 50% for Distillery (source: Employee commuting, target: 2025, completion: 75%)
