Emissions

Stickbulb measured its GHG emissions in order to understand its impact on the climate and inform its plans to reduce GHGs over time.

Total 2024 GHG Emissions

243.7 tCO2e

Roughly equal to driving 32 gas-powered cars for one year

0.13 kgCO2e per dollar of value added

Emissions intensity

Stickbulb's inventory uses spending data to estimate GHG emissions. Stickbulb attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate Project team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

Target

We commit to reducing 2021 Scope 1 and 2 emissions 50% by 2030.

The first Stickbulb prototypes were made in 2012 from a pile of scrap wood destined for the landfill. This moment defined our philosophy of making more light with less waste. Since that day we have constructed our LED fixtures out of wood from sustainably managed forests and locally demolished buildings, including dismantled NYC water towers. Much of our innovation is invisible - making LCA-driven tweaks to our supply chain, piloting new and sustainable material sources, or investing in more power efficient sub-components.
