## Sustainability story

The first Stickbulb prototypes were made in 2012 from a pile of scrap wood destined for the landfill. This moment defined our philosophy of making more light with less waste. Since that day we have constructed our LED fixtures out of wood from sustainably managed forests and locally demolished buildings, including dismantled NYC water towers. Much of our innovation is invisible - making LCA-driven tweaks to our supply chain, piloting new and sustainable material sources, or investing in more power efficient sub-components.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Stickbulb's inventory uses spending data to estimate GHG emissions. Stickbulb attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate Project team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Science-aligned targets
- We commit to reducing 2021 Scope 1 and 2 emissions 50% by 2030. (completion: 20%)

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 2** — We plan to reduce the amount of electricity we use at our office. (source: Electricity, target: Q1 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 2** — We plan to reduce emissions from purchased electricity at our office. (source: Electricity, target: Q1 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce the amount of drivers needed to power our larger fixtures. In turn, this will reduce the amount of metal needed in the canopies that hold the drivers. (source: Raw materials, target: Q2 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions by increasing the percentage of recycled wood material used in our products. (source: Raw materials, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Redesign current packaging across 50% of our product line to use 100% recyclable materials. (source: Packaging, target: Q1 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Transition data storage and backup to lower-carbon server across all operations. (source: Software and servers, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Eliminate all PCV across our decorative collection. (source: Raw materials, target: Q3 2026, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce total business travel 10% for sales team by incentivizing virtual meetings. (source: Business travel, target: Q3 2026, completion: 50%)
- **Scope 3** — Will take aspects of wood production in-house to better control energy usage and waste associated with production. (source: Capital expenditures, target: 2027, completion: 30%)
- **Scope 1** — Move to a new facility with better insulation to reduce wasted electricity in heating and cooling. (source: Energy at offices or controlled facilities, target: 2027, completion: 50%)
- **Scope 3** — Develop a new Light fixture to reduce emissions associated with embodied carbon by by 30% across our decorative linear lighting collections (source: Raw materials, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
