## Sustainability story

We live and love the mountain life, and we see ourselves as caretakers of the resources that provide it. That's why we are committed to a higher standard of business operations. We were founded to inspire balanced, conscious living in connection with nature and we do that by providing exceptional outdoor apparel that's rooted in our authentic mountain life and the interconnectedness of people and planet. In our commitment to stewardship, we have identified key areas of impact in which we pledge to benchmark, do better and report out on progress.
We carefully consider the impact of our material choices as we strive to deliver the best. After all, the most sustainable products are those that we keep in our closets and out of the landfill.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** Stio's emissions inventory uses a mix of spending and activity-based data. Stio attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — Increase our use of recycled materials from 25% to 35% in the next 12 months. This will help divert waste from land fills and reduce our impact from raw material purchases. (source: Raw materials, target: Q2 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions by benchmarking energy efficiency and renewable energy in our supply chain. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce Scope 3 emissions through targeted supply chain collaborations. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q1 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce our Scope 3 emissions by encouraging our partners and suppliers to use cleaner energy mixes when manufacturing Stio products. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q1 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce reliance on printed catalogs by committing more spend to digital channels. Also, slightly thinner paper quality. This should reduce our overall footprint by 8% - 10% on 2022 total levels. (source: Raw materials, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Transition 6.5% of air + ocean mix to more ocean shipping across products manufactured abroad. (source: Upstream shipping, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will eliminate single-use plastic packaging across base layer and eventually active knits. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2026, completion: 50%)
- **Scope 3** — We will benchmark energy usage and type at our top 3 garment and fabric manufacturing partners. With this data, we will set a plan to adopt additional renewable energy sources at these locations. (source: Supply chain energy use, target: Q4 2025, completion: 90%)
- **Scope 2** — Transition purchased electricity to wind/solar/hydro based power through our electric utility in our headquarters and retail spaces, whenever possible accounding to our lease agreements (source: Electricity, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Implement a low carbon sourcing/purchasing policy to model style specific carbon footprint estimates across all Stio products by the end of 2027. (source: Raw materials, target: 2027, completion: 0%)
