Wherever you see the Climate Neutral Certified label, it means the company is accountable for its greenhouse gas emissions. To earn the label, a company must annually measure cradle-to-customer emissions, implement specific action plans to reduce emissions, and invest in high quality, verified carbon credits.
The certification requirements are detailed in the rigorous, peer-reviewed Climate Neutral Certified Standard. Each company’s application is reviewed for compliance by Change Climate’s certification team.

At Technikal, we take sustainability seriously because we believe the future of the printing industry depends on it. The natural resources that make printed matter possible cannot be used at the expense of our broader climate needs. We also believe, that though our footprint is small, our influence is not. The printing industry, and in particular our little corner of this industry which caters to fine artists, has been slow to address its environmental impact. This is surprising given that artists have been among the earliest and strongest voices demanding responsible use of our planet’s resources. Our environmental stewardship begins with the basics. We eliminate waste wherever possible, reuse as much of our materials we can, and prioritize repairing equipment rather than replacing it. We have also committed to exclusively use printing processes that allow discarded prints to be recycled. 100% of our electricity comes from renewable resources (62.3% solar and 37.7% wind in 2022). Charitable giving is also a key part of our sustainability plan. Our goal is to support the organizations that can have an outsize impact on promoting environmental and social justice in our community, both local and global. In 2022 we donated 1% of our revenue to Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, CicLAvia, Sierra Club Foundation, Rainforest Trust, and California State Parks Foundation. As we move forward we’re looking for new ways to further reduce our environmental impact. There are three primary ways we hope to reduce the carbon impact of our printed matter. First, we are encouraging our paper suppliers to develop products that use less water and chemicals to manufacture and make use of fibers that can be grown more sustainably. Second, we are looking for new carriers and new products from our existing carriers that will help us reduce the carbon footprint of shipping to our clients. Third, we are experimenting with alternative packaging that uses less material without increasing the rate of damaged shipments. Above all, our biggest hope is that our actions will encourage others in our industry to develop their own sustainability goals. Only our collective action can actually move the needle on climate change.
