## Sustainability story

Our goal is to make innovative products that not only make travel and camping easier, but that also lessen the impact on the environment. Weighing just 5.5 oz., the Scrubba wash bag is the world's smallest washing machine for travel and camping. Using no electricity and minimal water it has not only helped over 330,000 travellers travel clean, light and free, but it has also reduced their travel carbon footprint and water consumption. Each Scrubba wash bag saves an average of 1000 litres of water and 7.5kg of carbon each year enabling travellers to reduce their travel footprint. Each Scrubba wash bag is designed to last for many years and is easily repairable to minimize landfill.

## Emissions (2025)

**Methodology:** The Scrubba's inventory uses spending data to estimate GHG emissions. The Scrubba attests to the accuracy of their data inputs and the Change Climate Project team reviews the submission for compliance with the Standard.

## Reduction plans

### Reduction action plans
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emission from the production of our main product, the Scrubba wash bag by replacing the virgin nylon fabric used for the Scrubba wash bag with recycled polyester. (source: Raw materials, target: Q4 2022, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We plan to reduce emissions from the packaging of Scrubba accessories such as the Scrubba towel and Scrubba drying combos by replacing the polyester pouches used to package these items with recycled/recyclable cardboard. (source: Packaging, target: Q1 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Eliminate all PVC across in our clothes hangers. (source: Raw materials, target: Q1 2024, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will repurpose shipping cartons to make mailing boxes for our Australian order fulfilment thereby reducing the need for new mailing boxes or satchels. This gives the shipping cartons another life before recycling. (source: Packaging, target: Q4 2023, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — We will reduce our use of non-biodegradable shipping labels by at least 80% over the next 12 months from our Australian warehouse. (source: Packaging, target: Q2 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Reduce total business travel at least 50% for all employees by mandating virtual meetings unless in person meetings are absolutely required. (source: Business travel, target: Q2 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Eliminate all PVC from packing cells across all of our kits by using non-PVC alternatives for the transparent window (source: Raw materials, target: 2025, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Redesign the shape of our product across all core products to reduce the amount of materials used (source: Raw materials, target: 2026, completion: 100%)
- **Scope 3** — Formalise and maintain a flexible working policy that reduces commuting emissions by supporting remote work where appropriate and encouraging low-carbon commuting options. (source: Employee commuting, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
- **Scope 3** — Eliminate individual inner packaging for accessories within Scrubba kits (e.g. towel, clothesline, hangers), transitioning to consolidated or no internal packaging where feasible. (source: Packaging, target: 2026, completion: 0%)
